The U of T Women in House is a new program aimed at promoting a greater female representation in the government by inviting female U of T students to shadow the lives of female Canadian politicians for a full day on the Hill in Ottawa. It involves a subsidized, two-day trip to Ottawa to directly witness the political procedures, learn about gender equity, and engage in mentorship and networking with Canadian political leaders. Since its first inception in 2013, over 80 female undergraduate students have participated in this program. It is a non-partisan and bilingual program, managed with the support of the office of the Honourable Carolyn Bennett, M.P. for St. Paul’s and the Minister for Aboriginal Affairs.
WHEN: March 7th-8th 2016
WHERE: Parliament Hill, Ottawa
Transportation provided through chartered greyhound bus & one night stay at a hotel in downtown Ottawa. First night includes a welcome reception & a special tour of the Supreme Court of Canada.

- Successful candidates will be notified by the end of the Reading Week in February. There will be a mandatory briefing session for all successful applicants and a registration fee of CAD $30.
